Composite with aircraft added and color correction.
Original background footage source by the Academy of Art University.
I read the source background footage and image into Nuke for compositing. I rotoscoped the plane, blurred the rotoscope and utilized a grade node to make the plane appear that it belonged there. I fed those into a copy node which I then premultiplied the alpha and utilized a transform node to obtain the size I needed the plane to be to fit inside the footage appropriately. I added a grade node where I adjusted the multiply and gain, color correct, hue correct, and defocus nodes, to get just the right precision of color and clarity to make the plane appear it had always been in the footage. Color correction of the entire image was also part of the assignment. I determined the angle the sunlight came in from indicated a sunset scene. Using the color correct node I adjusted the gamma and saturation to give the scene a slightly darker tone, I then adjusted the gain in the same node to give the lighting a slightly orange tint with just a hint of pink, standard colors seen in sunset photography.
